Well-fitting shoes are fundamental too healthy feet. So often the origin of injury is a direct consequence of ill-fitting shoes/runners. Therefore at every appointment, if desired we will screen your footwear and advise you on what to look for to suit your daily activity and sport. We will explain the terminology featured across sports shops and take the myth out of buying shoes/runners. Shoes should always be comfortable but stable, be the correct length width and depth for each foot. Shoes should have a firm sole with flexion only at the ball of the foot. We use the Brannock device to measure foot length and heel to ball length which is vital if you have pins and needles or nerve pain common in Metatarsal bone injuries. We provide orthopaedic footwear for those who need extra width and depth but also support.
